2017 Quiet Water Symposium

Lansing, MI – February 11, 2017 - Several thousand of the Great Lakes area’s most enthusiastic out-of-doors adventurers will meet for what has become the “Unofficial Start of Spring” in the northern mid-west and you are welcome to join them.  For nearly a quarter of a century, the Quiet Water Society and the Michigan State University, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources have hosted this event as a key part of the ANR Week celebration.

The MSU Pavilion will be wall to wall exhibits for the 2017 Quiet Water Symposium. Many of your favorites will return and there will also be some new things to see this year. 

Many of our sponsors have also returned and are helping to make the event possible. Special thanks to the DNR Parks & Recreation Division, our 2017 Show Sponsor. Look for their display in the Exhibit Area and thank them for their support of outdoor recreation here in Michigan.

Dean Sandell to receive the 2017 Verlen Kruger Award at QWS

 
The Quiet Water Society is proud to announce the winner of the 2017 Verlen Kruger Award. Congratulations to Dean Sandell. Mr. Sandell was an early proponent of the Michigan Water Trail system and has worked diligently to introduce generations to our Great Lakes resources.

QWS Raffle Grand Prize Canoe on display in Constitution Hall


The QWS Raffle Grand Prize, a Wenonah Solo Plus canoe, will be on display in Constitution Hall, 525 W Allegan St, Lansing until February 28. Stop in at the atrium (lower level) and take a look. Or better yet, stop at The Power of Water, 420 E Saginaw St, Lansing on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon and buy a ticket that could be the winner. Drawing is set for 5:00 PM, March 4, at the Quiet Water Symposium.
